Traditional Worship

Sunday mornings:  8:00 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. in the Traditional Sanctuary

Anona United Methodist Church is committed to the finest in traditional worship to the Glory of God.  Both of our traditional worship services include choirs of all ages, orchestras, bells, organ and piano and combine all of these into a rich and meaningful spiritual experience.  These two worship services have a long history here at Anona.  They are both rich in heritage and current in traditional music and liturgy.  From the 1870's, Anona has been known as a warm, friendly church, but also a pioneer meeting the needs of God’s people currently in every generation.

When other churches are scrapping their choir lofts or covering their stained glass with curtains so that projectors might shine during daylight hours, Anona has moved in the opposite direction.  We cherish pews, pulpits, choir lofts, daylight streaming through the stained glass, the deep resonant sound of a pipe organ and the classic touch of a Steinway piano.  The multitude of voices lifting the roof in praise of God leading an energetic congregation in hymns is the texture and taste of this worship service glorifying our Savior.  We are moving forward with pipes, processionals and even more powerful worship, without compromising the essential nature of the kind of worship you need and are used to. The most common response of a new person attending our traditional worship service is, “Wow, now that’s church.  I really feel like I have been to worship today.”

We are dedicated to energetic, passionate, uplifting, and spirit-filled worship that gives you friends to love, a cause greater than yourself, and the kind of worship that fills an empty soul which charges your spiritual batteries for the week ahead.

We have all levels of involvement.  Whether you are richly skilled or simply desiring to begin, there is a place for you.  You can contact Jeremy Herrington at 595-2581 ext. 236, or e-mail at Jeremyh@anona.com to find out more details about our musical groups at Anona or our Worship Chair Dolly Jamieson at 397-7066 to help with the many other opportunities in our traditional worship services.  Remember, there is a place for YOU!

John 4:24- "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
