Anona United Methodist Church is a unique community.  We are an inclusive church.  Even though we are a large church we started as the pioneer Christian community for the West Coast of Florida and continue to have that casual family feel and welcoming spirit.  We are a teaching church for other Christian communities.  We are an example, used internationally, of a healthy church.  We are a church that deeply cares about the quality of the life of the Christian community.  We offer all the levels of Christian experience from the person brand new to the church all the way to the Christian who is deeply involved and passionate as a leader in their own ministry.

We have a rich Christian experience at every age level.  From our children’s program to the visitation care of our homebound elderly and at every age and life stage in between there is intentionality about the enrichment of every life.  Not only do we consider Christian experience and age, but we consider the various, individual personalities, the different gifts and life situations we each bring to the community.  Because of that, there is a great variety of experience here at Anona to take into account the simple differences that we each bring to the Kingdom of God.

There are four expectations you can count on from your involvement here at Anona.  They are:

  1. Worship:  That through worship you may join a community of Christian friends, be involved in something greater than yourself, work on your own personal life’s quality and find a recharge for your soul’s batteries and forgiveness as you discover your need for God.

  2. Grow: That through small groups you may connect with Christ and embrace the personal growth that can happen when you step past worship into the deeper life of the body of Christ.  The big door of entering the church through worship has many small doors that lead to the real growth a Christian can experience.

  3. Serve: That through serving you might co-create with God as you make a difference somewhere in the world with your life.  A servant heart under Lordship of a powerful God will make in every room you enter.

  4. Live: That through living the life of the Spirit day by day, striving toward holiness, working toward the tithe, being mindful of your spirit you become more at peace and in love with the life God has given you.

I invite you to become a part of Anona United Methodist Church.  I invite you to feel safe about bringing a friend.  We won’t show up on their door with pressure to join.  God’s Holy Church is invitational, warm, and welcoming.  My prayer is that this will be an invitation into a relationship with your Lord, with me, and with this church community.  My email address is jack@anona.com, my extension is 224 or  call and set up a time with my secretary, Sharon Barker, (ext 222)  for us to have a cup of coffee together.  I’d love to get to know you.
