Together we can transform our world for Christ.
School Supply Collections throughout July!!
Each year in December, members of Anona generously give to support the children of the Micronesian Community in Dunedin. Some of you may have even met Pastor Tim Barton of First UMC of Dunedin at our Mission Expo just a few months ago. Many people that stopped by Pastor Tim’s booth asked how they could help the children, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year and one repeated item that comes across his desk is the request for school supplies.
This month we will be collecting school supplies to help stock those children with the items they need, and hopefully, a nice supply to keep them going throughout the year. Collection bins will be located in the Marketplace, by the long hallway entrance to Traditional and by the Narthex entrance to Contemporary. The most requested items are:
* 1” Three-ring binders
* Pens (black/blue)
* Composition Books (wide & college ruled)
* Spiral Notebooks (wide & college ruled)
In December we had 68 pre-school and school aged children on the list from the Micronesian Community. Some of you may ask whether the kids are required to carry clear backpacks? Each school has different rules and there is no “across the board” regulation at this time on type of backpacks.
I would like to thank you for your generosity, for your giving spirit. For always stepping up when it comes to Missions. Anona is able to support so many, to reach out and lift up those in the church and in the community, thanks to you.
At the same time as we are collecting for the Micronesian Children, our VBS will also be collecting school supplies as part of their mission for the month of July as well. VBS will be supporting Seminole Middle School with supplies for those in need.
Thanks for your Generosity!
