The Anona Academy of the Arts is a ministry of the Music Department offering individual music lessons for children and adults on: piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, and music theory and composition. Referrals for lessons on other instruments can be made by Sandy. Registration is open year-round.

  • Lessons are held on the Anona Campus or via online (ZOOM).

  • Lessons are for ½ hour per week unless otherwise arranged, at a fee of $20.00 per half-hour.

  • Second students from the same family receive a discount ($17.00 per half-hour).  
    Some instruments are available for students to borrow.

  • Anona Preschool/After School Program Students: Upon request, children in the Anona PreSchool/After School Program can be picked up and returned for their lessons/classes by their teachers, if the parent signs a Release form, available at the Preschool office.

Academy Teacher: Sandy Ross

Sandy has been teaching music lessons at Anona UMC since 1994. She was a founding member of the Anona Contemporary Band, and performs on bass or keyboards in the 9:30am Sunday Contemporary Service. She holds a Bachelor in Arts (cum laude) degree in music from the University of South Florida, and has been performing professionally in the Tampa Bay area since 1983.
