Ways to Serve

At Anona we believe in action, that our faith should be demonstrative; that we serve others as Jesus did. We also believe it is important to serve in areas that bring you joy or that you are gifted in!

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.
— Romans 12:4-6 NIV

We would love to connect you with areas to serve that you are passionate about. We have so many nonprofit partners in our local community that address our four pillars of Heart for Kids, Hunger, Housing and Helping. Each month we focus on one or more of these pillars and usually have volunteer opportunities that can be a one-off event or last year-round. We can meet to talk about schedules and interests, or just try an area to connect and discover how it feels to live out your faith!

Securing stable housing not only reduces stress and anxiety for families but also increases the likelihood of children graduating, contributes to generational wealth, and provides opportunities for veterans and seniors to access programs and classes—although, in Florida, the challenge is heightened due to ranking third in the nation for skyrocketing rent increases.

We believe that supporting social justice and mercy initiatives are part of helping improve our Community, Nation and the world. We pick partners that are doing wonderful ministry and in some cases start our own!

People frequently inquire about the absence of a food pantry in our setup. One reason is that our mission extends beyond assisting those experiencing food insecurity; we collaborate with nonprofits that provide supplementary services for individuals in need.

We're passionate about collaborating with public schools and agencies dedicated to supporting children and youth, firmly believing in providing every child with a great education, a stable home life, ample nourishment, and clean clothes to wear, working alongside exceptional entities such as teachers, Habitat, Hope Villages, mentors, and Clothes to Kids.
